Kellys of Dublin Van Conversion Specialist

About Us

The catalyst of Kellys of Dublin began in 1932 when Christopher O’Kelly worked in America for Amelia Earhart (the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean). Christopher progressed to working in Detroit, in 1933, for  Ford in providing upholstery services of the highest of standards. After many years of excelling in his craft he moved back to Ireland in 1935 where he worked on upholstery for cars for O’Neills in Phibsboro.

In 1942 he worked for Mc Cairns as a freelancer for three years, in 1945 he opened his business in Fredericks Court specialising in upholstery for top car brands.

During the late 1960’s the business had progressed to conversions. Kellys of Dublin was born and have become Ireland’s leading company for conversions of  minibuses and cars. Christopher’s son Vincent took over the business in 1971 and Kellys of Dublin later progressed into Camper conversions. We have provided thousands of vehicles conversions and upholstery services and continue to grow from strength to strength today.

Later in the 1990’s Kellys of Dublin were the first Irish conversion company to achieve european type approval on Wheelchair Taxis. In our quest for better safety standards for all our customers, we had dynamic testing carried out on all our taxis. Have a look at some of our testing being carried out.
